The Johnston County Senior Games started in 1987 and is sanctioned by the North Carolina Senior Games, which began in 1983. The vision of the games is to create a year round health promotion and education program for adults 55 years and older.
Each spring, participants can enjoy friendly competition with others in their own sex and age category within five year increments.
The program is open to all residents of Johnston County. Those who qualify at our local games are invited to attend State Finals in Raleigh in the fall.
If you are not yet 55, you can still participate as a volunteer. We need score keepers, help with food and water services, registration and most of all we need cheers and encouragement.
